What to Expect When Visiting

Located in Calgary’s East Village, the National Music Centre has entered int a new era with the construction of Studio Bell that completed in 2016. Studio Bell is the first of its kind in North America as an incubator for musical thought. The venue is 160,000-square-feet and is home to the expanded collection of over 2,000 rare instruments and artifacts. When visiting this hub for culture, innovation, and musical discovery, you can expect a modern and engaged floor space filled with exhibits and history.

The building features curved and interlocking towers with an exterior coat of glazed terra cotta. In addition to the exhibitions’ extensive and storied history, you will enjoy sweeping views o the Bow River on one side and the cityscape on the other. To further improve the experience, Studio Bell incorporates the historic King Edward Hotel, which is one of Calgary’s oldest buildings that features a legendary blues club.
