The Greater Vancouver Zoo is located in Aldergrove, BC. There are over 140 species spread on 120 acres of land. The zoo features train rides, safari bus rides, picnic park, amphitheatre, playgrounds, educational programs, cafes, and specially designed exhibits replicating different animals’ natural habitat. Some of the most popular animals at the zoo include wolves, grizzly bears, cheetahs, falcons, coyotes, elks, deers, bison, etc. The animals are divided into categories with information boards placed near the exhibits to educate the visitors about the animals. It makes for a rich learning experience for visitors. There are guided tours available where the specially trained staff can provide some commentary and answer any questions.

The zoo offers daily animal encounter events. Some of the popular activities include Meet-a-Reptile, The Big Cats, and the Radical Raptors. The zoo has a retail outlet for gifts and souvenirs. You can schedule birthday parties, field trips and corporate events at the Greater Vancouver Zoo. Parties are allowed on the weekend with group rates available. The zoo offers the option to allow for special activities during the party, such as scavenger hunt games, walking tours, and animal encounters. The registration for special events has to be made at least two weeks in advance. The zoo also offers an outreach program where individual live animals and artifacts are taken on-premise at schools, community events, and parties. There are different packages available, depending on the location and duration of the event.

Scooters, bicycles, rollerblades, skateboards, wagons are all welcome at the zoo. The comfort and safety of animals at the zoo are of paramount importance, and therefore no motorized recreational equipment such as hoverboards, scooters are not allowed. There is wheelchair access for visitors. No feeding of any animals is permitted, and the entire facility is a smoke-free environment. The zoo is open from April to September from 9 am to 5 pm. There is plenty of parking available for a flat rate just outside the entrance of the zoo.
